College Programs Abroad

This internship is available to college students with at least one year of college level French. It gives students professional experience and opportunity to improve linguistic knowledge of French. Students will be provided with an internship in/around Deauville , France with training lasting for two to three months.

University of Kentucky students with a primary or secondary major in Japanese can spend 4-6 weeks interning in Shinhidaka, Japan during the summer. Potential internship placements include: town hall, helping with tourism and international outreach, assisting schools, providing English lessons to both children and adults. Students are able to experience life and work in Japan, assisting them with improvement of their Japanese speaking skills and provide them with a deeper understanding of Japanese culture.

Available to University of Kentucky students with at least one year of college level French, this scholarship provides one full semester at the University of Caen. One student is selected to attend for the Fall semester, and one student is selected for the Spring semester. Students are given the opportunity to improve in linguistic knowledge and gain international experience. Students selected will receive tuition fees for Caen, housing, and a UK tuition and fees waiver.

Available to university graduates, this program sends two teachers to instruct English in Deauville, France for one school year. Those selected will teach multiple grade levels ranging from kindergarten to 5th grade, often including responsibilities of after school and additional school programs. TA's are given housing, transportation, and are paid by the city of Deauville during their teaching internship. 

A Lexington Sister Cities program including Bluegrass Community and Technical College Equine Studies Program, The British Racing School in Newmarket, England, The Racing Academy and Centre of Education in Kildare, Ireland and The Association de Formation et d'Action Sociale des Ecuries de Course in Deauville, France. This program provides a opportunity for participants to experience living and working in the thoroughbred industry in another country.
